HOROLOGICAL ASSOCIATIONS

American Watchmakers-Clockmakers Institute
(AWCI) is an international not-for-profit trade association dedicated to the advancement of horology - the study of the art and science of timekeeping devices. AWCI provides educational and technical services for members and referral services for the general public.

The Antiquarian Horological Society
(AHS) "exists to promote the study of clocks and watches and the history of time measurement in all its forms." The Society publishes an excellent quarterly journal called Antiquarian Horology.

The British Horological Institute
(BHI) offers membership "to anyone, professional or amateur, with an interest in horology." It operates education and training programs for people planning a career in clock and watch making.

The National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors
(NAWCC) is based in Columbia, Pennsylvania, where their world-class museum is located. The NAWCC publishes an excellent Bulletin every two months with lots of historical and mechanical information on all aspects of horology, including repairs.
